Code of Conduct for Coaches, Volunteers and Officials

The essence of good ethical conduct and practice is summarised below.


All coaches, officials and volunteers at the club must:


Consider the wellbeing and safety of participants before the development of performance.


Develop an appropriate working relationship with participants, based on mutual trust and respect.


Make sure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and the experience of those taking part.

Promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. fair play)

Display consistently high standards of behaviour and appearance.

Follow all guidelines laid down by Athletics Ireland and Greystones and District AC.


Hold appropriate qualifications.

 

Adhere to the principles of volunteerism, by participating in club activities without financial reward.

 
Never exert undue influence over participants to gain personal benefit or reward.

Never condone rule violations, rough play or the use of prohibited substances.

Encourage participants to value their performances and not just results.

Encourage and guide participants to accept responsibility for their own performance and behaviour.


Never use foul or inappropriate language.

Never engage in any form of sexual relations with anyone under the age of 18, or with vulnerable adults.


Read, understand and put into practise all club policies and procedures.

Sunday Run

Sunday run this coming Sun. 24th March is Glendalough! Meet at the Wollen Mills at 9.20am for short warm-up, ready to run by 9.30am. All club athletes welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

  1. Leinster 10 mile championships, Clontarf Easter Monday 22nd April. Entries to Theresa

  2. Juvenile Track League R2: for athletes up to U15, will take place on Fri 26th April at the Athletic Track in Arklow at 7pm. Entry form will be on our website shortly and entries will close on Wed. 24th Apr.
