Congratulations to Ryan Montgomery who took the Senior men’s cross country title in Avondale, on Sunday. Ryan took the lead half way through the first lap and extended his lead with every lap, to cruise to victory and become the first ever Greystones athlete to win a senior championship.
In the Junior event, our girls team of Ellie Hartnett, Niamh Kearney and Laura Boylan finished in silver medal position, with Ellie & Niamh taking the individual silver and bronze medals.
The relays were very badly supported with only nine Greystones athletes turning out. Teams were organised and all ran well and enjoyed the chocolate afterwards. Medals will be presented at training. Well done to everyone who competed on the day.
The Leinster XC relays will be held on Sun 10th Jan. in Kilmacow, in conjunction with the Jun/Sen events. We need to make up teams for the relays, so please text Theresa if you are interested. U12/14/16 (2009 ages).

On Fri 22nd Jan. our club will be hosting the County Star Awards. This event will be held in the function room of the Horse & Hound in Delgany, which is kindly being donated by the Boylan family. We will need sandwiches and cakes for this, so if you are in a position to help out, please contact Theresa on 0868635797. Award winners will be announced shortly.
We would like to congratulate Caoimhe Basquille and Ferdia Kenny for winning the Leinster Star Awards for 2009.
