Once again our athletes put in superb performancs at the weekend. On Sat. our younger athletes were in Tullamore for their Leinster championships. The following athletes took part and all did really well.
U10’s: Katie Lawless, Frances Dallaghan, Claudia Randles, Alison Pluck.
U11’s: Shauna Dillane, Roisin Coogan Pluck, Jamie Maguire
U12’s: Lisa Dallaghan, Rebecca Murphy, Alison Dawson Whelan, Richael Browne, Susie McParland, Sophie Boylan, Daniel Pluck.
On Sunday some of our older athletes were in action competing for Slí Cualann in the Jun/U23’s and it proved to be a day of medals and PB’s once again. Caoimhe Basquille won the 100m hurdles in 13.3s and jumped 1m65 to take silver in the HJ. Ellie Hartnett took gold in the 400m in 61s, Ferdia Kenny took silver in the 100m and the 200m with a new PB of 22.2s and bronze in the LJ. Ferdia and Cormac Hanlon were members of the U23 relay team that won gold medals. Meanwhile, Niamh Kearney was competing in an international event in Switzerland where she had another great run in the 800m finishing in 2m13s. She also ran a 57s leg of the 4x400m relay. These athletes will all be in action on Sat at the schools All Irelands along with Claire Foley in the 100m and 200m and Sean Ryder in the javelin. Good luck to all.
Entries for next weekend for the Seniors /Masters are overdue. Anyone intending to take part should talk to Theresa immediately.
Athletes from U9-U15 who want to take part in the team competition on June 12th should give their names to Theresa (0868635797) immediately, if you haven’t done so already. This is a great event and is being held here in Greystones, so we should be able to get lots of teams out. Each team has 4 athletes who compete in two events each and all four do the relay.
Athletes from U13 to U19, who intend taking part in their Leinster championships on the 19th/20th June should give their names and chosen events to their coaches by next Tues 8th.
