CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Conor Dempsey who won the Scottish National U16 Long Jump last weekend with a big PB of 5.90m. Conor also took bronze in the 60m. Well done also to Cillian Browne, Steven Diggin, Padraig Lennon, Dylan Grimes Larkin & Jack Lacey Curtis who also travelled to Glasgow and put in some first class racing in the wonderful new Emirates arena.

LEINSTER INDOORS
All roads lead to Athlone this weekend, where many of our athletes will compete in the fabulous new International Arena for the very first time. The very best of luck to all competing and we hope you all enjoy the experience.  There will be a list on our web-site with details of who’s competing each day and in what events.  Start time is 10.30am each day and you will need to allow at least 30 – 40  mins for warm-up etc. It is difficult to predict start times for events during the day, as we don’t know how many athletes will turn up to compete in each event.
The programme for the two days is on www.athleticsleinster.com Those doing 600m on Sat. should be safe enough arriving by 11.30, the hurdles by about 12 and the 60 on Sun. by about 12. There will probably be two Long Jump, & High Jump areas in operation, boys & girls, and it is likely to take at least half an hour for each. These estimates could be way off and you still might have a long wait, but it is better to wait two hours than to drive all that way and arrive too late. Club singlets must be worn!
Please note that any athletes who put their names forward and who fail to turn up, must refund their entry fees to the club. €120 of the fees  paid out for our relay teams went to waste, due to athletes not attending.

CLUB SHOP
For athletes needing singlets, shorts etc. for this weekend, our club shop will be open this Fri 8th from 6.30 – 7pm. We have a small number of second hand spikes on offer also. Please note that only 5mm spikes are allowed on any track and these will be checked at the weekend.

COACHING COURSE
For any of our coaches who have done the Athletics Leader and/or Assistant Coaches course and would like to upgrade to Level 1, there will be a course here in Greystones over two weekends.
Level 1 Coaching Course, Greystones, Co. Wicklow.

For those coaches who have not yet done a course, or anyone who would like to start helping out with coaching, there is an Athletics Leader Course on Sat 13th Apr. from 10am-5pm at Shoreline Sports Complex (Gym), Greystones.
I am also in the process of arranging another Code of Ethics course as many of us are due to renew this in 2013.
All coaches need to complete at least one coaching course and the Code of Ethics course and must complete a Garda vetting form.
