TRIP TO EUROPEAN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
The European Team Championships were held in Santry, Dublin over the weekend and a group of Greystones athletes & coaches spent a very enjoyable day watching 1st class athletics and collecting autographs from top athletes. The highlights of the day had to be watching both women’s & men’s Irish teams winning their 4 x 400m relays. Many complimentary comments were passed throughout the day, on what a great group of supporters GAC were. Well done guys……. you made a great impression!

A fantastic evening was had at the Bray Invitational T&F event, with superb performances from so many GAC athletes, they are too numerous to list. Suffice to say that GAC retained the Cup by a big margin once again and we also retained the Medley Relay Shield with GAC teams finishing 1st & 2nd. The Invitational Mile on the night saw Padraig Lennon take the win comfortably with a new PB of 4.35, with Tim Grummell of Inbhear Dee 2nd in 4.37, Jamie Lennon 3rd in 4.48, Cillian Browne 4th in 4.49 and Steven Diggin 7th, all running PB’s for the event. Well done to everyone who competed on the night and to all who helped out!

Many of you have now collected your athletics registration cards, but there are still a big number remaining. Please ask for these at check-in, if you haven’t collected it yet. For the younger athletes we would suggest that parents come down and collect them, as they are likely to get lost otherwise and they cannot be replaced. These cards entitle you to a 10% reduction at Woodies. Cards for recent registrations may not have arrived yet.
